Frequently Asked Questions
as of March 1st, 2024
Membership
Have membership dues increased versus 2023?
2024 membership rates increased approximately 5% as a result of increasing operational costs such as minimum wage, chlorine, and vendor services.
I would like to join as a bonded member. How do I do this?
Joining as a bonded member requires a one-time payment of $600 which is a security deposit. You would also be responsible for paying annual dues at the bonded rates, which are lower than non-bonded rates. As a bonded member, you would have voting rights which would allow you to vote on Board of Trustee nominations and infrastructure or capital improvements/repairs. The security deposit is refundable at the time of resignation. Bonded members who do not join for a season will be required to resign before September 1 of that year or forfeit their bond by default. A written letter or email is required in order to request your refund.
If bonded members decide not to join for 2024, can they retain their bond and status for future years or will they be required to apply for a bond refund by September or risk forfeiting their bond?
Bonded members who do not join for 2024 will be required to resign before September 1, 2024, or forfeit their bond by default.
In the event the swim club cannot open on Memorial Day weekend will you prorate dues?
We anticipate being able to open by Memorial Day weekend. However, in the event restrictions or other circumstances do not allow us to do so, dues will not be prorated. The costs to open and maintain the pool and grounds, as well as club insurance fees, remain unchanged.
Will members be allowed to bring guests?
Yes, members are allowed to bring guests at a fee of $15 per guest aged 2 and older. There are NO REFUNDS for guest's fees. If we close early due to inclement weather, you are welcome to return with your guest later on the same day that you purchased the guest pass, assuming we reopen. There are no rainchecks for another day. Members may not, under any circumstance, leave guests at the pool if the member leaves the property. Adult members cannot leave Teen guests at the pool. Teen members are not permitted to bring guests. Members are responsible for ensuring their guests follow OSC rules. The Board of Trustees or Management reserves the right to restrict guest passes at any time in order to comply with capacity guidelines.
Will day passes be offered to non-members who want to come on their own, without a member?
No. However, from time to time the Board of Trustees has opened a Day Pass option during low attendance days toward the end of the summer. Those are limited and announced at the last minute.
If the pool is required to close during the operating season for any reason, will our dues be refunded?
No, dues will not be refunded but the board may revisit based on the circumstance.
Are dues refundable if I change my mind about joining?
No, dues are not refundable. The Oradell Swim Club relies on its membership dues as its primary ability to operate based on the commitment of its members.
Will a July-only or August-only membership be available?
At this time, we are not planning for a month-by-month membership.
Will you close registration at a certain date?
At this time, we do not plan to close registration given we have a high capacity for membership.
If I have additional questions, who can I contact?

Yes. Only Puddle jumpers or coast guard certified floatation devices for medical reasons are permitted. Please speak with a manager to verify a coast guard certified floatation device due to medical reasons.
What is your swim diaper policy?
Children who are not toilet trained are only permitted in either the Rossi pool or Kiddie pool and they must wear swim diapers. Swim diapers/non-toilet trained children are not permitted in the Main pool or Lap pool under any circumstances.
In 2021, we decided to allow children in swim diapers to use the Rossi pool (in addition to the Kiddie pool) for a trial period. We will continue this for 2024, however, if for any reason it is unsuccessful, we will revert to kiddie pool only.
Will you have a lost and found?
No. The OSC is not responsible for items left on the property. We maintain 2 bins that are emptied multiple times during the week.
Will the lap pool be restricted to adults only?
No. But only 1 swimmer per lane. We recommend a 30 min time limit on use of lanes when others are waiting. This will not be monitored by OSC management or guards, rather will be on an honor system basis.
What are the daily operating hours?
Please see the “Hours” tab on our website. Please note, our hours are subject to change depending on the recreational activities that we may host (i.e., swim team, swim lessons) as well as staffing and weather.
